| Moldflow®
Moldflow® analyses should be used as
an integral part of the design process when components are
to be made from plastic and manufactured by the injection
moulding process.

Plastic brake pedal - Fill time simulation
Moldflow® analyses can be used to determine
the optimal design and raw material configuration for a part,
determine the optimum feed configuration and geometry for
the mould tool to optimise the part performance, and advise
on any potential problematic areas likely to be encountered
during the moulding process.
The analyses may also be done on a retrospective
basis as part of a failure mode investigation on a plastic
part or assembly. In such cases, by running a Moldflow®
analysis on a current design, material and feed configuration,
the analysis results may highlight areas of the fill and cooling
cycles that may correlate to the root causes of the part failure
seen in practise.
Our CAD and Moldflow® analysis environments
have been seamlessly integrated to allow for an iterative
move between the two in a timely manner.
The preferred file transfer formats
for standalone Moldflow® analyses are either native Pro|ENGINEER®
.prt files, .stp or .stl file formats. Please e-mail your
3D files in any one of these formats to solutions@pdl-group.com
