PDL is an approved supplier to both the British
Nuclear Group (BNG) Reactor Sites and Project Services organisations
and has successfully completed (1) engineering option studies,
(2) detailed engineering design and (3) safety case design
substantiation support to BNG teams at a number of the Southern
Bundle sites and Sellafield and we are actively pursuing contract
opportunities at the Northern Bundle sites in the UK and further
afield.
We advocate the use of parametric 3D modelling
wherever possible to facilitate the exchange of concept ideas,
illustrate the proposed decommissioning concepts in their
deployed positions, and run preliminary Finite Element Analysis
(FEA) or Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) analyses to substantiate
the design proposals.
The bottom line effect of using this virtual
3D design and analysis environment is that (1) risk is mitigated throughout the development cycle, (2) project timescales
are foreshortened by reducing the extent of testing required and (3) our customers spend less money on a project to get a better overall result.
To facilitate the transfer and interrogation
of the concept models and supporting analyses between sites,
customers are invited to use our secure File Transfer Protocol
(FTP) site and WebEX collaborative viewing account. The use
of the FTP and WebEX capability in conjunction with a standard
office computer, internet browser connection and phone provides
a simple, cost effective and extremely powerful way to communicate
with all interested parties irrespective of their location and firewall restrictions.
We would be delighted to support any
company actively engaged in the decommissioning area and would
welcome an initial exploratory meeting at no cost to discuss
your design engineering and analysis requirements in detail.
