provide on-going thermal, mechanical and modal analysis support
on the development of a new engine ignition system.
April 2006
- PDL attend the MoD GSE & AS IPT Industry Day at The East of England showground
to demonstrate how the PDL capabilities will benefit the functionality
and reliability of the future Aerospace Ground support Equipment
(AGE).
March 2006
- PDL awarded Rosti design and development
contract. PDL engineers will provide engineering design and
analysis support to the Rosti Technical Plastics International
Projects Team on the development of an advanced consumer appliance.
May 2005
- PDL recommended for ISO 9001:2000 registration. Almost four months
to the day after the initial pre-audit assessment, BSI Management
Systems external auditors returned to PDL to complete the
official ISO 9001:2000 assessment audit of the quality management
system. The detailed audit did not raise any major non-conformity
issues and the company has been recommended for registration to the
ISO 9001:2000 standard.
The fact that we have designed, developed and implemented
a fully accredited quality management system in 6 months is
testimony to the fact that every single employee signed up to the
benefits of having such a QMS in the first instance,
and approached the role-out and implementation phase with
such vigour and enthusiasm. For us this is the starting point.
It now gives us a structured platform to further improve our
business processes that will benefit our customers, suppliers
and fellow employees alike.
March 2005
- PDL attend the Future Rapid Effect Systems (FRES) industry event day
at The Ramside Hall Hotel in Durham. The event, organised
by the Northern Defence Industries (NDI), will enable PDL
to start a dialogue with the W S Atkins personnel on the potential
analysis requirements for the initial assessment phase of
the FRES project. W S Atkins have been appointed by the MoD
as the lead contractor for the initial assessment hase of the FRES program.
- Product Data Management (PDM) system analysis. The
company has embarked on a project to evaluate the most effective
product data management system for its business. The PDL engineering and IT teams will evaluate
a number of systems over the coming 12 week period. The key
deciding factor will be a system that effectively controls
the data, but does not hamper the efficiency of the organisation
to respond to customers needs in a timely manner. The chosen PDM system will be implemented
throughout the organisation in July 2005.
- Financial operating systems upgrade. The company has selected
SAGE® Line 50 Financial Controller as its preferred financial
operating system upgrade. The new software will provide full
traceability from initiation of the customer quotation through
to receipt of all due moneys. The new system rollout will,
including full training of all relevant personnel, be complete
by the 1st April 2005.
- PDL presents their CFD analysis capabilities to Whale Pumps.
The relationship between the two companies is set to strengthen
even further. PDL provides complementary finite element analysis,
Moldflow® and now computational fluid dynamics support
to the Whale Pumps design and engineering teams.
February 2005
- PDL posts financial figures for year-ending May 2004. The company reported a significant
increase in gross and net operating profits. This is a direct
result of the significant investment made in the financial

predicts further growth and profitability in the current financial
year ending May 2005 in line with its overall 5-year plan.
- File Transfer Protocol (FTP) site upgrade complete. The
