Now into its 3rd year, the Water Industry Supplier Conference being held at The Holiday Inn in Birmingham on Thursday 10th November 2016, will look into the successes, challenges and the opportunities that are still available within the current Asset Management Programme 6 (AMP6) cycle and it will look ahead to the future opportunities for innovation and collaboration within the UK water industry.

Key themes of the conference include:

• Price Review in 2019 (PR19) and how it will affect the supply chain

• Optimising investment programmes to improve Outcome Delivery Incentives (ODI)

• What it means to be investors in innovation

• Innovating within capital delivery partnerships

• Adding value as a supplier (and not just on price)

• Why we need to move from projects and documents to assets and data

Speakers sharing their insight on the above themes include:

• David Black, Senior director, Water 2020, Ofwat

• Dr Mark Fletcher, Director and global water leader, Arup

• Colin Merewood, Water sector customer director, Costain

• Paul Hilton, Technical director, project management, Mott MacDonald

• Andrew Cowell, Engineering director, MWH

• Paul Mullord, UK Director, British Water

• Martyn Hopkinson, Operations director, Future Water Association

Experts in Finite Element Analysis (FEA), Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) and Multibody Dynamics, PDL engineers use these advanced engineering analytical toolsets to describe what a water asset has seen in the past, predict what that water asset may see in the future, then prescribe what intervention is needed and when to maintain that water asset’s operational performance.

Paul commented “Water companies, wastewater companies, tier 1 contractors and original equipment manufacturers all need to know how their assets have performed in the past, how they will perform in the future and what interventions are needed to either improve their operational efficiency, or to replace a worn part before it actually fails in service. By having access to the right data, then using that data in the right way, we give our water clients that critical engineering insight into the past, present and future well-being of their assets which, in turn, helps them to make good and cost-effective decisions”.
