PDL Solutions (Europe) Ltd has joined the Future Water Association (FWA) as part of the company’s increasing focus on the global water industry.
With its core expertise in the oil & gas, nuclear and renewable energy sectors of the energy industry, over the course of the last 18 months, PDL has successfully diversified into the aerospace, defence, transport and water industries.
Its transferable and complementary engineering design and analysis capabilities, which have been well-proven in the international energy industry, are increasingly being utilised in the UK and international water sector.
Experts in the use of finite element analysis, computational fluid dynamics and multi-body dynamics toolsets, PDL engineers work with clients to understand the real-time condition of an existing asset, determine the remaining life of aging assets or infrastructure and help facilitate the comparative assessment of the various life extension options.
They also understand the route-cause failure modes that occur at a system or a component level and they help develop, optimise and qualify their client’s new technologies, products and systems to the appropriate design codes and water quality standards.
The FWA is one of the leading business support organisations for the water sector and it is a driving force for sector developments in the UK and around the world on behalf of its members.
As a member of the FWA, PDL will support the organisation’s commitment to encourage innovation and to develop new ways of working and new technologies to ensure the ongoing sustainability of the water industry.
Paul Charlton, Chief Executive of PDL Solutions (Europe) Ltd, said: “We are proud to become part of the Future water Association and we fully support its ambition to shape the future of the water industry. Our expertise in computational fluid dynamics has already been successfully applied to a number of water industry projects and we are continually developing new advanced analysis methodologies that can be effectively applied to the water sector”.
“Our active engagement with the Future water Association will enable us to ensure that these new analysis methodologies are directly aligned to the current and future needs of the water companies, tier 1 contractors and the original equipment manufacturers and service companies.”
Paul Horton, CEO of Future Water Association commented “We are delighted to welcome PDL to our organisation and look forward to them joining us on our journey into the future where we focus on new ideas and innovation to help sustain and grow the UK water sector. The advanced analysis methodologies developed by PDL will be a real asset to the water sector and we will be pleased to support the business as they expand into this new territory.”
