PDL CEO, Paul Charlton, joins the Oil & Gas Authority Supply Chain & Exports Board.
The UK Government is playing its role in driving transformative change in the UK Continental Shelf (UKCS). The Oil & Gas Authority (OGA) is taking shape and growing its team. It’s currently an executive agency of the Department for Energy and Climate Change (DECC) and after the Energy Bill 2015 gains Royal Assent, it will become a fully independent regulator by the middle of next year.
The OGA has established 8 boards to cover 8 core work areas. Supply Chain and Exports is one such core work area. It is a joint OGA and Industry led group consisting of 5 Operators, 9 supply chain companies and the UK Government.
Its remit is to create a supply chain that can deliver transformative solutions to maximise economic recovery in the UKCS and compete globally.
Paul adds “..I sit on the Supply Chain & Exports board as the CE0 of 1 of the 9 supply chain companies and the Chairman of NOF Energy, so whilst I have only 1 seat at the table, I would like to think that I have the voice of 500 supply chain companies behind me; it’s vital, therefore, that NOF Energy members and other supply chain companies tell me what efficiency savings that their products or services can bring to the industry, the challenges and the barriers that they face in getting these new ideas to market and then they tell me what needs to change to make it happen. I can’t guarantee the outcome, but I can guarantee that I’ll air their collective views, to the best of my ability, at the highest level..”
The OGA Supply Chain Board will meet on a bi-monthly basis and it will report its progress to UK Government Ministers at the quarterly MER UK (Maximising Economic Recovery UK) meetings in London.
