Over the past 15 years, we have developed an impressive and unrivalled position in the analysis of valve and valve-related applications. Such is PDL’s expertise in the area that our Engineering Director, Alex Roff, CEng MIMechE, will be speaking at the BVAA spring conference.
Alex’s presentation is entitled: The use of CFD to assess valve performance and operation in extreme conditions
He says: “Accurately representing the operating conditions of valves in service can be extremely challenging. This presentation looks at how FEA and CFD simulation can be used to gain confidence and verify the performance of isolation and choke valves, which cannot be fully proved otherwise until the product has been installed and enters service. In some cases, the requirement for this kind of FEA and CFD analysis verification will become mandatory for subsea well intervention equipment.”
